neuropsychological Assessment
Neuropsychological assessment consists of an in depth examination of reasoning skills, problem solving, attention and concentration, speed of information processing, and memory. The purpose of this assessment is to provide an idea of an individuals overall cognitive function and comment on how reductions are likely to play out in the 'real world'. Psycog uses the most reliable and valid measure during the assessment process.
diagnostic & capacity assessment
Diagnostic and capacity assessment consists of an in depth examination of reasoning skills, problem solving, attention and concentration, speed of information processing, and memory. The purpose of this assessment is to provide an idea of an individuals overall cognitive function and comment on whether or not they meet criteria for a neurological disease (such as dementia). In addition, a structured interview is conducted to determine whether an individual is capable of managing their living, financial and/or medical needs independently in the community.
forensic risk assessment
Forensic risk assessment consists of an in depth examination of personality structure, using a combination of clinical interviewing and personality inventories, including the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2-Restructured Form (MMPI 2 RF). Further to these methods, individuals will undergo an structured risk assessment, that will provide a measure recidivism and strategies to assist with rehabilitation in the community/custody.
TAC, insurance & disability Assessment
Disability assessment consists of an in depth examination of reasoning skills, problem solving, attention and concentration, speed of information processing, and memory. The purpose of this assessment is to identify the presence of cognitive impairment and/or an Acquired Brian Injury (ABI), the relationship of such impairment to the motor vehicle accident or work related injury and the impact of the impairment on an individual’s ability to function at home, at work, or in the community both now and in the future.
fitness to stand trial
Fitness to stand trial assessment consists of an in depth examination of reasoning skills, problem solving, attention and concentration, speed of information processing, and memory. In addition, a structured interview in conducted to determine whether an individual is capable of following nature of their offences and follow the course of the trial. Strategies are provided to legal representatives to assist clients during court proceedings.

Assessment of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) persons is a skilled psychological process that requires sensitivity and understanding of a wide range of factors. Where possible, Psycog uses psychological tests and normative data that are closely related to an individuals lived experience to ensure that results derived from the assessment process are valid and reliable.
